Run by Vanderbilt University students, squ1rrel CTF is a beginner to intermediate level CTF. It is aimed at teaching university students important cybersecurity topics while engaging them at a deeper level with computer science as a whole. It is intended to give students a space to learn about security topics and solve captivating CS puzzles individually or as a team to learn about everything from binary and web exploitation to cryptography, reverse engineering, and digital forensics. The challenges contain a mix of real world vulnerabilities showcasing the importance of learning about security but also challenges meant to test familiarity with computer science and math concepts as a whole. squ1rrel CTF also features prizes from top sponsors in the security industry as well as additional prizes construed by the Vanderbilt CTF community with the hope of creating a competitive yet collaborative environment.
