I am pentestmage, a participant in the 2026 RITSEC CTF (Team: Dokgodai).

Before being banned from the site, I was ranked 8th.
At around 10 AM, they banned my account.
To raise questions about this, I opened a Discord ticket and asked about it, and they claimed that I had used AI to solve the challenges.

I responded as follows:
Do you have any evidence that I used AI to solve them?
Do you have a legitimate reason for the ban?
I can prove otherwise.
Is using AI to write writeups also prohibited?

However, the responses I got from the organizers were:
“You are not allowed to use AI to write writeups either.”
“Send us the writeups you wrote, even just for fun.”

The rules on Discord and on the homepage state the following:
“Be nice and use Discord smartly. Don't attack anything out-of-scope. No flag- or hint-sharing. No flag-hoarding. No using AI to autonomously solve challenges. Keep your work organized, we may ask about it. We can interpret these rules as we see fit.”

Does it say anywhere here that AI must not be used to write writeups?
What it says is that AI must not be used to solve problems, to solve challenges.

So I sent the writeups that the organizers requested,
but they said that because the writeups were written by AI, that itself was the reason for the ban.
Yet the organizers have not provided any evidence that the user used AI to solve the problems or submit solves.
The organizers have provided absolutely no evidence that the user used AI to solve the challenges.
It is nothing more than their speculation, and nothing else.

The user did not use AI to connect through Chromium or engage in any behavior to solve the challenges,
but they ignored the user’s position without legitimate cause and even removed the user from Discord.

What is the purpose of writing a writeup?
Isn’t it to refine and organize the content, and to make the scripts that were used reusable?
If so, then using AI to write writeups should also have been explicitly prohibited.
Instead, they only stated a rule about solves, yet after seeing the writeup I submitted, they simply said that because it was written by AI, it was a rule violation.

If they want,
I will fly from Korea to India
and prove in real time, without using AI, that I can solve the challenges.
One million dollars. Do you agree?

They repeatedly emphasized the same point whenever I did not provide what they were asking for,
but when I repeatedly asked about the reason for the ban, they eventually removed me from the ticket.

Is that justified?

I did send the writeups they requested,
and I asked about the reason,
but after looking at the writeups, they dismissed and mocked me by saying they were written by AI.

So what exactly is the evidence that I used AI to solve the challenges?

Rules on AI:
Using AI/LLMs to autonomously solve challenges is against the spirit of the competition and is thus considered a violation of the rules. AI should only be used for research purposes or as a secondary tool, not as the primary agent solving challenges.

Although they officially state on the website that AI may be used as a secondary tool,
they have neither verified nor provided any evidence that I used AI to solve the challenges.

This is a clear act of abuse and oppression against my rights.

I created a new Discord account and asked,
“So what is the evidence that I used AI to solve the challenges?”

A moderator named Sylvie responded,
“it was revealed to me in a dream.”

Is this really a proper CTF?

Time of ban
At approximately 10:00 AM KST on April 5, 2026, I was banned from the RITSEC 2026 site.

Inquiry about the reason for the ban and the organizers’ initial response
To ask about the reason for the ban, I opened a ticket in the Discord server.
However, instead of first explaining the reason for the ban, the organizers asked me to provide my solve process, writeups, and scripts, saying:

“hi, can you please send us your solve process/writeups/scripts for these challenges:”

“AI writeups at that!”

“well let's try one more time. those aren't the right challenges. give us: Buried Treasure, not quite optimal, obfpyscated, Cascading the Seven Seas, Captain Mark's Compass, slopjail, Poastboard 1”

These statements were made by the organizers Captain 0xmmalik and Sylvie.

Submission of the requested writeups and my question about AI use in writeups
I submitted the list of writeups the organizers requested.
After that, the organizers claimed that the writeups had been written by AI.

In response, I asked whether it was really a problem to use AI to help organize a writeup into my own format for clarity, what the actual reason for my ban was, and whether AI use for writeup drafting was also prohibited.

They responded:

“correct, it is not allowed”

and then added:

“but just for fun, send us your process for the challenges we requested”

Mismatch between the published rules and the apparent reason for enforcement
The organizers claimed that I had violated the rules.
However, neither the Discord rules nor the rules on the event page state anywhere that using AI to draft or organize a writeup is prohibited.

In fact, the published rules explicitly state that AI may be used as a secondary tool:

Website:
“Using AI/LLMs to autonomously solve challenges is against the spirit of the competition and is thus considered a violation of the rules. AI should only be used for research purposes or as a secondary tool, not as the primary agent solving challenges.”

Discord:
“No using AI to autonomously solve challenges.”

In other words, the published rules prohibit using AI to autonomously solve challenges, not using AI in the process of drafting or organizing writeups.

No evidence provided and removal from Discord
I asked the organizers to provide evidence that I had used AI to solve challenges.
They did not provide any specific evidence. Instead, they continued to demand writeups and process details.

Even after I submitted the requested writeups, I repeatedly asked for the actual reason for the ban.
Rather than answering that question, they closed the ticket and removed me from the Discord server.

Mocking responses after a follow-up inquiry
I later created a new account and rejoined the Discord server to ask again.
Instead of receiving an explanation, I received mocking responses such as:

“it was revealed to me in a dream.”

“i wasn't expecting someone to ACTUALLY cheat while i was getting my juice”

These were not legitimate explanations or evidence. They were mocking responses to a request for clarification.

Main issue
The core issue is simple:

The organizers did not provide evidence that I used AI to actually solve challenges.

The published rules prohibit autonomous AI solving, but the enforcement against me appears to have been based on the claim that my writeups were AI-written.

That is a mismatch between the published rules and the apparent basis for the ban.

Worst ctf ever. Broken bonds, defamed team intentionally and whenever asked for explanation, they told, we dont work like that !

This competition is the worst. I never want to participate again. Many teams were disqualified. The process was by no means fair. I am appalled by the incompetence of the organizers.

sy1vi3, an organizer, voted on their own CTF and voted the maximum amount, 72.

absolutely absurd! just goes to show who the organizers are and how they act.

Bad CTF honestly:
- The rules mentioned that "AI should only be used for research purposes or as a secondary tool", we never used AI as agents or perform auto solves, when asked about the definition of "secondary tool", they immediately closed our ticket.
- Asked furthermore about the vague rules in their public channel, they seems doesn't care and quote "to be clear: i do not care at all how you interpret them. what matters is how i interpret them and how my team interprets them."
- Someone leaked their infrastructure source code on their Discord server, turns out they AI slopped their infrastructure while banning AI/LLM. Bunch hypocrites.
- Some teams just got their scripts purely eye-balled and accused to be LLM written. When asked, they say "That's not really how this works."
- Some mods started power tripping and banning players they don't like from their Discord server.
- Publicly shaming teams
- It's the first CTF I saw having mass-disqualification (74+) in the mid-game.
- Caution on the future rating of this CTF as top-teams are disqualified without rights to vote, and there were a war going on in the voting page.

The organizers banned over 70 accounts for using AI. Some bans were justified, others were not. The rules clearly stated that AI could be used as a secondary tool , but the organizers themselves were the ones deciding whether someone relied on it entirely or not —it’s interesting to wonder how they were even supposed to verify that, considering they claim to rely on 'subtle indicators'. Thanks to these bans issued by sy1vi3 (one of the organizers), their affiliated team (see for yourself which one) jumped up to second place
